Community South
Community South is a network of unique Community
Centres and Neighbourhood Houses. This network offers leisure,
learning and social interaction opportunities through the provision
of information, support, education programs and entrepreneurial
activities.
Overview
Each year Community South harnesses $3.5 million hours of
volunteer labour to create 16 energetic organisations which enliven
and enrich the communities of southern metropolitan Adelaide.
Community Centres and Neighbourhood Houses which form part of
Community South offer a diverse range of opportunities for local
residents to:
- learn new skills for pleasure and work
- increase their confidence, self-esteem and language skills
- meet new people and make new friends
- find out about local services
- improve their health, fitness and well-being; and
- offer their knowledge and skills as a volunteer.
