Community East
Community East is a network of unique Community
Centres and Neighbourhood Houses. This network offers skills
development, learning, leisure and social interaction opportunities
through the provision of information, support, education programs
and entrepreneurial activities.
Overview
Each year Community East harnesses $2.8 million hours of
volunteer labour to create 15 energetic organisations which enliven
and enrich the communities of northern metropolitan Adelaide.
Community Centres and Neighbourhood Houses which form part of
Community East offer a diverse range of opportunities for local
residents to:
- learn new skills for pleasure and work
- increase their confidence, self-esteem and language skills
- meet new people and make new friends
- find out about local services
- improve their health, fitness and well-being; and
- offer their knowledge and skills as a volunteer.

some new skills and feel more confident before I started looking
for work.'
