About us

Community and Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association Inc (CANH) is the peak body for over 90 neighbourhood houses and community centres across South Australia.

Overview

Established in 1983, CANH acts as a catalyst for community development through the provision of services, support, advice, advocacy and professional development opportunities, working with members on a statewide basis.

CANH is a proud member of the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association (ANHCA), representing 1,000 centres nationally.

CANH is governed by a volunteer Board of Management comprising 13 elected representatives from the sector. The Board is responsible for managing the affairs and the strategic direction of the Association. A small team of staff, led by an Executive Officer, work with the Board to achieve the goals and priorities of the Association.
